FAQs

Q?

Will I save money with LED Lighting?

A.

LED light bulbs are the most energy-efficient light bulbs available on the market.  While their bulbs are the most expensive, they will - over the long run - save you money due to their outstanding duration and very-low running costs.

So, if you’re planning on using LED lighting for the long term and don’t mind the somewhat restricted colour range (cool white/warm white), then you’re sure to save some dollars.

Q?

Is it cheaper to leave my fluorescent lights on?

A.

The general rule is that if you’re out of a room for more than 15 minutes, switch off your lights.

Q?

I already have Circuit Breakers installed on my switchboard… do I still need a Safety Switch?

A.

Yes.  Circuit breakers are designed to protect the accessories and cabling in your home.  A safety switch is for the safety of you, your family and employees.

Q?

Why won’t my safety switch reset?

A.

This could be due to a faulty appliance, faulty wiring or a faulty safety switch. Start by unplugging all the appliances on the tripped circuit.  If you’re able to reset your safety switch, plug in your appliances one by one; when the switch trips again - you’ve identified your faulty appliance.

If you’ve unplugged all your appliances and your safety switch still won’t reset, it could be due to a fault in the safety switch or in the wiring.  In either case, contact Smartelec on 0412 747 957
